This piano is rooted in the time-honored principles of acoustic piano design. The Kawai CA701 Digital Piano features the Grand Feel III keyboard. This action combines authentic materials, natural motion, and refined mechanics to recreate the touch of a world-class concert grand. All eighty-eight keys are crafted from long wooden components, topped with finely textured ivory- and ebony-like surfaces for a truly realistic feel.
Each key pivots smoothly on a balance pin, rising and falling with the familiar seesaw motion of an acoustic action. When a key is pressed, its rear lifts to activate a graded hammer that strikes a pressure sensor. The intensity of this motion is precisely measured, allowing the instrument to respond with nuanced dynamics and richly expressive tone.

The piano is equipped with built in Bluetooth® V5 and USB audio. This allows for convenient recording and playback, adding versatility to practice and performance. The built-in metronome offers multiple time signatures along with 100 drum patterns. The integrated lesson functions features classical etudes and selections from the popular Alfred course books. This makes practice both engaging and effective for pianists of all ages.
The functions are easily controlled through the CA701’s enhanced 5″ anti-glare touchscreen display. This provides an intuitive interface for selecting sounds and adjusting settings. The screen can also be set to automatically fade out during play, preserving the look of an acoustic piano while minimizing visual distractions.
