This piano is rooted in the time-honored principles of acoustic piano design. The Kawai CA901 Digital Piano features the Grand Feel III keyboard. This action combines authentic materials, natural motion, and refined mechanics to recreate the touch of a world-class concert grand. All eighty-eight keys are crafted from long wooden components, topped with finely textured ivory- and ebony-like surfaces for a truly realistic feel.
Each key pivots smoothly on a balance pin, rising and falling with the familiar seesaw motion of an acoustic action. When a key is pressed, its rear lifts to activate a graded hammer that strikes a pressure sensor. The intensity of this motion is precisely measured, allowing the instrument to respond with nuanced dynamics and richly expressive tone.
The Kawai CA901 Digital Piano Has A Real Soundboard
This piano is complemented with premium speaker drivers. The CA901 features Kawai’s renowned soundboard speaker system. The advanced audio design harnesses the natural warmth and resonance of wood. Using transducers to transmit sound energy to a large wooden soundboard, the instrument produces a rich, organic tone. The soundboard enhances both the depth and projection of the sound. The TwinDrive system represents the third generation of Kawai’s soundboard technology. It is highlighted by a newly redesigned primary transducer that delivers greater power and dynamic range. A secondary transducer, positioned toward the treble end, further broadens the soundboard’s output. This extends its benefits beyond the lower frequencies to enrich the mid-low and mid-high ranges with the same warm, natural character.
